Dear Cllr, The Department is working closely with An Garda Síochána and keeping security arrangements at the campus under review, including a possible return to previous opening hours of the Leisure Centre. While security concerns and assessments are ongoing, the Leisure Centre will function in its present capacity. 

Leisure Centre opening hours
Current opening hours are 6am – 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am – 6pm Saturday to Sunday. Leisure Centre members should note that, under the current measures, the Leisure Centre is open three hours longer than usual at weekends - closing one hour later, at 5pm, on Saturdays and two hours later, at 6pm, on Sundays.


Car Parking and security
We would like to confirm that there is a security presence at the designated car park for members accessing the Leisure Centre.

Security huts have been put in place at the entrance to the Citywest campus and at the roundabout entrance to the designated car park area for Leisure Centre members. 

Additional lighting and CCTV have been put in place both in the Leisure Centre car park and along the main route through the campus.

Keep Citywest Gym Open. When the Government bought the Citywest Hotel, they promised the Citywest Gym would stay open to the public. The gym has over 3,000 members and is an important space for health, wellbeing, and community connection. Reopen Citywest Gym & Improve safety around the site.
